2027 Mission Trip to Guatemala: The High School Youth and College Age Adults are heading to Guatemala in July 2027. We will be building houses and running a sports camp/VBS. We have a few open spots if anyone is interested in going. The dates are July 25 - August 1. The cost is $2500 per person. Adults will need a background check. All participants must help with fundraising efforts. Please contact Carrie Kober at 314-221-9722 if you are interested.
Welcome back, Teachers!!! The Board of Congregational Life is once again offering you all an opportunity to welcome our amazing teachers back to school. There is a tree in the narthex. On this tree are tags for each teacher with some items for their special "wish list" for their classroom. You are invited to take a tag, purchase the item, return the tag and item to church or the school office. The teachers are always so grateful for the congregations generosity. Mostly, they appreciate all of your prayers for them and the students as they start the new school year!
Welcome back brunch!! Wednesday Woman Bible Study will start on Wednesday August 26, at 9:00 a.m. with a potluck brunch in the church fellowship hall. In the weeks that follow we will have various Bible studies led by Destiny Packer and Peg Rincker. There will be child care provided and you are all welcome to join us!!

Sewing Day for Missions - Come join us on Thursday, August 20, from 9 to 11 A.M. in the Fellowship Hall. We are still in need of flat sheets to use for the bottom of the tie quilts. They can be left in the quilter's closet. Thanks!
Mark your calendars for this year’s hymn festival on August 28 at 7:00p.m at Good Shepherd. Pastor Will Weedon will join us as we sing the six hymns of Bach’s Schubler Chorales. A dessert reception will conclude the evening.
Run club will continue on Tuesday evening through the month of August. We plan on starting up again in June next year.

MELHS is taking applications for the position of School Secretary here at our Edwardsville campus. The position is full-time (August thru May ) and reports to the Principal of the school. The start date would be January 4, 2027 following the retirement of our current school secretary. Meet the Knights of MELHS - Families are invited to a free event at Metro-East Lutheran High School called “Meet the Knights!” Kids can play games, eat snacks, meet the players who will sign autographs, and stay to watch the Knights scrimmage game against Christian Life Hopedale. MELHS celebrates its 50th year of ministry this coming school year and we are planning a number of events to celebrate this Jubilee Year! There will be an event calendar coming out soon but for now we ask you to "Save the following dates"...August 22, 2026 at 2:00 p.m. will be an opening Festival Worship held at MELHS. February 26, 2027 will be the 50th Anniversary Dinner event held at the Regency in O'Fallon. Please mark these two events on the calendar and join us as we celebrate 50 Years of "Walking in Christ" at Lutheran High. Volunteers are needed from Good Shepherd to drive and deliver Meals On Wheels for the Collinsville area for our elderly, disabled, and homebound community. Our church is responsible to deliver six weeks of the year Monday through Friday rotating with nine other local churches, one week every two months. Deliveries are from approximately 10 AM to 11:15 AM. If you can volunteer in this way, either regularly or as a substitute and would like to know more, please contact Tamara Tucker-Lindsey at 618-806-3062 or by emailing ttlindsey@att.net. Thank you.
Holy Cross Lutheran Church in Collinsville is offering a thirteen-week grief support group called GriefShare. This is a bible-based program that has been very helpful to those who are grieving the loss of a loved one. The group will meet on Tuesdays beginning September 8th through December 1 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. in the church Fellowship Center.
