Sewing Day for Missions - Come join us on Thursday, June 18th, from 9 to 11 a.m. in the Fellowship Hall. We are in need for flat sheets to use for the bottom of the tie quilts. You can drop them off in the quilter's closet.
Life Team - This year's National Celebrate Life Day, June 20, is featuring a nationwide evening of prayer vigils at the U.S. capitols, and Planned Parenthood abortion vendors across the country. At the Saturday night service Pastor will offer a prayer to celebrate
Life from Conception to end of life. Also the Life Team has chosen Wednesday, June 17, from 8am to noon, to stand in prayer for LIF at Planned Parenthood, Fairview Heights. Join us!
VBS Volunteers: If you have registered to volunteer at VBS, please pick up your VBS t-shirt Sunday, June 14th in the Narthex. Also, please be sure to turn in your Background Check Form or your Permission Slip. If you are still interested in volunteering for VBS, it is not too late to register as a volunteer.
VBS 2026: Register students three years old and potty trained through those students entering sixth grade today for an island adventure on Tropical Trek at this year's Vacation Bible School! Join us June 22 - June 26 for a week of fun, faith, and discovery as we learn how Jesus came to seek and save the lost. Registration is limited, so be sure to register your students early! MELHS celebrates its 50th year of ministry this fall! An opening Festival Worship service will be held on the afternoon of Saturday, Aug. 22, 2026 to kick off this Jubilee Year. A mass band, orchestra, and choir made up of MELHS students, alumni, parents, and friends will be a part of the service. Music will be available by August 1, with rehearsals still to be determined. If you wish to be a part of these ensembles, please contact Mr. Meador at Joseph.Meador@MELHS.org by July 31.
The following is from Pastor Surbug: I have been in contact with the Rev. Peter Anibati Abia, the Bishop of the Ev. Lutheran Church of South Sudan/Sudan. He reports that he will be able get relief funds to the Lutherans in the Nuba Mountains, Sudan. Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, Marion, IL will be collecting funds to help these Lutherans and will send them to the Ev. Lutheran Church of South Sudan/Sudan and Bishop Abia.

Group Run - Good Shepherd families join us for a weekly group run Tuesday evenings 6:30-7:15 pm at Drost Park this summer! This isn’t just for our Cross Country athletes. Running over the summer is great for any fall sport and any member of the family. Walkers welcome! We will meet at the north parking lot near the bathrooms and playground.
