Weekly Announcements 05/17

Holy Baptism for Bodie Matthew Lee Staley, son of Nicholas & Melissa Staley, is at the Sunday, 10:30 a.m. service. Please help in welcoming Bodie into our Good Shepherd home!

Last Wednesday Service: This Wednesday, May 20th, will be our last Evening Prayer Service until
August. Please contact the church office with any questions.

Love Offering: Chef Lisa lost her home in a house fire last Tuesday evening. She has been the chef at GSLS for the last four years. The fire department told her they believe the fire started on her front porch. Her bedroom was right off the porch and the room next to hers held all of her clothes, which she lost and most other items were damaged due to smoke and water. Thankfully, Chef Lisa was not home at the time of the fire.  For everything that has happened, she’s in good spirits. She will be boarding her dogs for the time being and staying with her daughter until further notice. With that being said, we would like to help her in a time of need. We will be collecting monetary donations as well as gift cards. We will have a box in the narthex
where gifts for her can be dropped off. Thank you all for your support and keep Chef Lisa in your prayers.

CPR/AED certification: Tuesday June 9th, 1-4pm OR 6-9pm at Good Shepherd Fellowship Hall. Cost:$10.  Pre-registration is required. Email Jeanne Burke at jeannerose3456@gmail.com to reserve your
spot or ask questions. Bleeding control will also be covered. Class size limited to 24 each session.

Issues Etc. - UNDERSTANDING DIFFICULT OLD TESTAMENT PASSAGES… Was the universe really created in six days?  Why did men live so long?  What about all the violence in the Old Testament?  Do Old Testament prophets predict current events?  You’ll find answers to these questions in a series of interviews with Doctor Reed Lessing and Doctor Andrew Steinmann, co-authors of the new book “Wrestling with God.”  You can listen at your convenience at issuesetc.org/wrestlingwithgod.
