Michael Walther
Pastor 

Pastor Michael Walther has served at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church for since 1991. Previously he served as campus pastor at Kearney State College in Kearney, Nebraska and as pastor at St. John Lutheran Church in Beemer, Nebraska. He completed his Master of Divinity degree at Concordia Seminary in St. Louis in 1984. He also received a Master of Sacred Theology degree in 1998 from the same institution. He aims to be an all around pastor focusing his energies on preaching, teaching, visitation, and administration. He especially enjoys the opportunity to help people experience the wisdom and the wonder of God's word and the beauty of the promises of salvation in Jesus Christ. He is committed to upholding the truth of Christian doctrine and to the life of love in Jesus. Pastor Walther also likes to stress the importance of "going out" to reach the lost and those who might be losing their way. Associate Pastor

We are in the process of calling a new pastor.  Rev. Paul Hemenway has accepted the call to Trinity Lutheran Church in Springfield, Illinois, where he is now Senior Pastor.  We wish him and his new congregation well and pray that he is as much a blessing to Trinity as he was to Good Shepherd.

Youth Director

This position is vacant, and we are in the process of looking for a new director.

Carol Walther
Director of Women's and Children's Ministries

Carol Walther is currently serving as Director of Women’s and Children’s Ministries.   She received her AA degree from Concordia in Austin.  She received her BA from Concordia College in River Forest where she also received her Lutheran Elementary Teaching Certification and Director of Christian Education Certification.  She did her DCE internship in Vandalia, IL.  It was during this year of internship that she met her husband.  They have been blessed with 4 sons and 1 daughter.  They recently experienced the joy of adding a daughter-in-law to their family.  She loves the many opportunities she has to share God’s Word at Good Shepherd Lutheran.
