Pastor Michael Walther has served at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church for since 1991. Previously he served as campus pastor at Kearney State College in Kearney, Nebraska and as pastor at St. John Lutheran Church in Beemer, Nebraska. He completed his Master of Divinity degree at Concordia Seminary in St. Louis in 1984. He also received a Master of Sacred Theology degree in 1998 from the same institution. He aims to be an all around pastor focusing his energies on preaching, teaching, visitation, and administration. He especially enjoys the opportunity to help people experience the wisdom and the wonder of God's word and the beauty of the promises of salvation in Jesus Christ. He is committed to upholding the truth of Christian doctrine and to the life of love in Jesus. Pastor Walther also likes to stress the importance of "going out" to reach the lost and those who might be losing their way. Scott Adle - Associate Pastor AdleCollarSmaller

Pastor Scott Adle was born and raised in North Platte, NE. He graduated from Concordia University, Seward, in 2000, and from Concordia Theological Seminary, Ft Wayne, in 2008. Before coming to Good Shepherd, he served as pastor at St John's Lutheran Church in Secor, IL. He married Rosie in 2007. Rosie is a deaconess, writer, and fluent Spanish-speaker. They have been blessed with three children: James, Maria, and John.

Tom Westphal - Youth and Family Life Director

Tom Westphal was born and raised in Michigan. He attended Concordia University in Seward, Nebraska and graduated from Concordia University-Chicago. Tom has a great heart for teaching young people God's truth and love in Jesus. In his leisure time you might find him working on his truck or enjoying some fishing.

Carol Walther - Director of Women's and Children's Ministries

Carol Walther is currently serving as Director of Women’s and Children’s Ministries.   She received her AA degree from Concordia in Austin.  She received her BA from Concordia College in River Forest where she also received her Lutheran Elementary Teaching Certification and Director of Christian Education Certification.  She did her DCE internship in Vandalia, IL.  It was during this year of internship that she met her husband.  They have been blessed with 4 sons, 1 daughter, 1 daughter-in-love and 1 grandson.    She loves the many opportunities she has to share God’s Word at Good Shepherd Lutheran.

 

Lynn Cook - Parish Nurse

 

Lynn Cook serves in the areas of health education, personal health counseling, facilitator for Grief Share, and as visitor to our sick and/or older members. For more information on her work please visit the Parish Nurse Page.

 

Chris Loemker - Music DirectorLoemkerCasual

 

Chris is a native of Edwardsville and holds a degree in Organ Performance from Indiana University - Bloomington. He has been involved in LCMS church music over the last 28 years in a variety of roles ranging from Music Director and Organist, to formely working as a Production Editor in the music department of Concordia Publishing House. This summer he will serve as Kantor of the Higher Things Lutheran Youth Conference to be held in Mequon, WI. During the week, Chris is a medevac pilot that lives in Marine with his wife Carmen, and four daughters. For more information on our music ministry, see the Music Program Page.

 

Zach Stegman- Children's Music Director

 

Zach is a graduate of Southern Illinois University-Edwardsville. He currently serves as our choir and band director in our church and school.

 

Aaron Mueller - Teaching AssistantAaronMueller2014Smaller

Aaron Mueller is a graduate of Covenant Seminary in St. Louis and is currently working on his PhD in New Testament Theology at Concordia Seminary in St. Louis. He is a part-time teacher at Good Shepherd helping with Catechism classes and Adult Bible Study and teaches Comparative Religion at Lewis and Clark Community College.  Aaron is married to Angela, a journalist, and they have three children: Harry, Kate and Reeve.
