Good Shepherd Lutheran School in Collinsville, Illinois

Welcome!

CELEBRATING 25 YEARS OF CHRISTIAN MINISTRY

From the Principal

Welcome to Good Shepherd Lutheran School! It is my pleasure and opportunity to greet you in His name. We have been truly blessed with a congregation observing its 50 years of ministry that has supported a Christian day school for 25 years. This year we are serving 26 communities and over 460 students in preschool through 8th grade. These students will have the opportunity to hear the grace, love and forgiveness of our Lord Jesus Christ from quality, caring Christian teachers.

GSLS has a staff of over 30 teachers who are committed to providing a quality Christian education with emphasis of a Christ-centered environment. In addition to the regular curricular areas, our students also benefit from instruction in Art, German, Spanish, Technology, Physical Education, Pee Wee basketball, Music - band, choir, and piano & string lessons - and a resource teacher. We also provide opportunities with interscholastic sports in cross country, volleyball, baseball, basketball, cheerleading, and track.

Our school theme for our 25th Anniversary is based on 2 Peter 3:18.

"Celebrating: Reaching, Teaching and Growing" These past 25 years at Good Shepherd we have been blessed with 778 graduates being taught His word with the partnership of our school families. Many of our graduates have continued their calling by serving our Lord through many diversified occupations. The Lord teaches us in many ways through the reading and listening of His word. He teaches us through the daily encounters we have with different people. He teaches us through the meditation we have in Him through our pray life. As we live our lives, let us always remember the importance of His teaching so we can walk and share the grace we have through Christ Jesus.

We believe Good Shepherd Lutheran School is a great place to grow in knowledge and understanding, in skills for living, in getting along, in developing our God-given abilities and most importantly in our faith and life with Jesus. GSLS also serves families in various ways and helps parents carry out their parental responsibilities in Christian education. Partnership in education is a must as we strive to serve our school families.
